Friday

Departure from Malta via Rome to Cairo.

 

Saturday

Upon arrival meet with our representative at the airport, transfer to hotel and check in. After some rest and breakfast start your full day excursion to the Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza – one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – followed by a visit to The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, housing among others the treasures found in the tomb of Tutankhamen. Free time for lunch. Return to hotel. Free evening or take Optional: Dinner on a floating restaurant with a folklore show including a belly dancer and Tannura (spinner).

Sunday

Day at leisure or Optional: Full day excursion to the Royal Necropolis of Sakkara where the step-pyramid of Pharaoh Zoser is found & Memphis where lies the biggest statue of Ramses II, visit a papyrus and perfume factory. Continue to The Citadel of Saladin, built as a fortress in the 12th century by Salah aI-Din, and to The Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Over-looking the vast city of Cairo The Alabaster Mosque, was built within the walls of the Citadel and is covered entirely in a splendid alabaster finish. Free time for lunch. Return to hotel. Free evening or take an optional:   Visit the Old Bazaar of Khan El Khalili. Wander through the maze of narrow winding streets of this unique open air bazaar. This may also be your time to try out the shisha (water pipe) in a typical shisha bar and drink some local mint tea.

Monday

Early transfer to airport in time for flight to Luxor; upon arrival, transfer to cruise, check –in at 12.00, followed by lunch and a visit to Karnak and Luxor Temples. The highlight of this tour includes the largest surviving obelisk in Egypt, the Theban trinity of gods, and the amazing Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134-colomns. Dinner and overnight on board.

Tuesday

After breakfast immediate departure to visit the West Bank including the Valley of the Kings. We enter three tombs which are carved in the rock. The magnificent reliefs and paintings on the walls tell us a lot about the afterlife of each King. On our way we stop to see the two Colossi of Memnon and in Deir el Bahari we visit Hatshepsut Temple, the famous lady Pharaoh. Sailing starts towards EDFU via the ESNA Lock, not to be missed! Lunch and afternoon tea are served. The evening is free time to enjoy the facilities of the boat. A welcome Reception Cocktail precedes Dinner. Overnight on board in Edfu.

Wednesday

After breakfast, visit Edfu Temple dedicated to Horus son of Isis and Osiris by horse drawn carriage. This is the best-preserved major temple in Egypt. Lunch and afternoon tea are served. Sailing continues to Kom Ombo (60 km); visit Kom Ombo Temple shared by two Gods Sobek (Crocodile God) and Haroeris (Falcon God). After dinner, join the fun on board at the Galabeya party wearing traditional Egyptian costumes, while enjoying an oriental show. Sailing continues to Aswan. Overnight on board.

Thursday

Optional visit to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel dedicated to King Ramses II and his Queen wife Nefertari. (Early departure). Return to cruise in time for lunch – followed by a felucca ride around Kitchener Island giving you the opportunity to admire the scenery and the natural beauty of the Nile

Optional: Sound and Light Show at the unique Philae Temple; Dinner and overnight on board.

Friday

Breakfast followed by disembarkation. Depending on time of flight – a Short visit to the High Dam and the unfinished Obelisk will be made. The Dam itself is one of the greatest engineering achievements of the 20th century. Transfer to the airport for flight to Cairo. Transfer to hotel for overnight.

Saturday

Breakfast. Day at leisure or Optional: Visit Churches Complex in Old Cairo (Coptic). Wander around the oldest alleys, visit the Hanging Church of Holy Mary, the synagogue of Ben Azra, an Orthodox church and the little chapel of St. George the Martyr and what is left of the Roman fort of Babylon.

Sunday: Transfer to Cairo International airport in time for your return flight.
