Day 1

Flight Malta to Casablanca direct with Airmalta. Upon arrival meet our Representative, Immediate transfer to the city for a tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco and its largest city. Visit the famous Hassan II mosque with the highest minaret in the world; Ain Diab Corniche, the city’s most fashionable district and Mohammed V Square. Transfer to hotel for check-in .Overnight in Casablanca.


Day 2

Breakfast followed by transfer to Rabat the capital of Morocco. Visit the Kasbah of the Oudayas which was constructed during the realm of the Almohads dynasty in the 12th century; Visit Mohammed V Mausoleum, home to the tombs of the current king’s father and grandfather and finally stop to admire Hassan Tower which is a minaret built in 1195 by the Almohades Dynasty. Continue to Meknes, the Moroccan Versailles being the oldest city in the kingdom. Meknes was the capital of Morocco under the reign of Moulay Ismail(1672–1727), Admire the beauty of the massive Bab El Mansour gate, which is the grandest of all imperial Moroccan gateways. Next visit Hri Souani, which is a complex of three different buildings built for granaries and stables. This amazing site has been used as a scene for many films, the most famous of which is probably The Last Temptation of Christ in 1988 by Martin Scorsese. Proceed to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman ruins of Volubilis being a Berber and Roman city. It was the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Mauretania. The city was developed from the 3rd century BC onward as an Amazigh, then proto-Carthaginian, and from the 1st century AD onward it grew rapidly under the Roman rule. Continue to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Overnight in Fes.

Day 3

Breakfast followed by a city tour of Fes starting at the entrance to the largest royal palace in Morocco. Continue walking towards the ancient medina of El Bali which is the medieval part of Fes, visit an authentic traditional ceramic crafts village and the famous Al-Karaouine mosque and University, built by Fatima Al Fihria in 857/859. Al-Karaouine mosque became home to the University of Al-Karaouine, which is the first and foremost spiritual university and educational centre of the Muslim world. In the medina, visit also a Merdersa, which is a Coranic school. Complete the city tour of Fes with the leather Souq and the oldest Leather Tannery which dates back 9th century. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4

Breakfast Journey to the Sahara desert, through the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the way visit Ifrane, a charming town and ski resort famous for its Alpine climate and European-style houses; it is 1665 metres in elevation. This town experiences snow during the winter and a cool climate during summer. Ifrane also records the lowest temperature in Africa. Here expect to find animals like the threatened Barbary Macaque and local tree species such as the native Atlas cedar. Scrub oak and the introduced London plane. Arrive at Midelt which serves as the commercial center of a large agricultural hinterland. Proceed through many Amazigh (Berber) villages and along the Ziz valley to get to Erfoud. Continue to Merzouga which is the heart of the desert. From here starts a Sunset camel ride to the desert camp. Dinner in the desert camp. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 5 Breakfast in the desert camp.

Optional 4×4 desert tour. The tour includes a stop at the village of Khamlia to enjoy some Gnaoui music and a. visit to a nomad family. From Merzouga proceed to Tinghir a gorgeous 40km oasis, which boasts one of the largest palm groves in the country via Rissani and Tinjdad. Stop at Todra Gorge, a 300m cliff carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. With its robust rock sides and many uneven surfaces it is popular among rock climbers as it has more than 150 routes rated French Grade 5+ to 8 bolted in the canyon. Todra Gorge was featured on the premiere of the United States reality show Expedition Impossible.

Leave Tinghir and head to Dades. The drive is spectacular, winding through stunning desert landscapes, villages with the expansive Jebel Sahro lunar-scape. Dades is known for its figs; it was the valley featured in a 2012 advert for the Cadillac CTS.

Finally arrive in Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s Hollywood. The drive is spectacular, with hundreds of red Kasbahs lining the route. Possible stop at Kelaat M’Gouna famous for cultivating roses from which many fine, rose-infused products are produced. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Ouarzazate.


Day 6

Breakfast followed by a stop at Taourirt Kasbah, considered the most beautiful kasbah in Morocco. Drive by the film studios where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Leave Ouarzazate to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou a great example of earthen clay architecture a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ait Ben Haddou is an iconic landscape immortalized in such films as The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Jesus of Nazareth(1977)”, The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), Gladiator (2000)”, “Son of God  (2014)”. Continue to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains.

Upon arrival stop to admire the Koutoubia Mosque, built under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur and visit the Bahia Palace built in the late 19th century fusing Moroccan and Islamic architecture. Finally stop at Jema El Fna Square to enjoy performances of traditional activities and the bustling souks in the old medina.

Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 7

Breakfast followed by full day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls- the 110m high waterfalls. Ouzoud is one of the most beautiful landscapes and one of the most visited sites in Morocco. In the vicinity are Green valleys, mills, orchards and a superb circuit of the gorges of the El Abid River (in Arabic, Slaves’ River. Return to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8

Breakfast followed by transfer to Casablanca airport in time for Flight to Malta.
